So fresh, so clean

Hi ladies,
There are some things I just WISH I'd thought of myself. Things like the key card, or Cold Stone Creamery, or those little wheelie sneaker thingies the kids are wearing. These days, I'm kicking myself for not inventing Jonathon Pocket Redo Freshen-Up Wipes for Hair & Skin ($20). You know how your hair starts looking lank, frizzy and beatdown by the third day of your blowout? Simply swipe one of these rose oil-infused, alcohol-free towelettes throughout your hair to instantly refresh your situation! The little miracle workers add a tremendous amount of shine, sop up greasy strands, negate any odors (think cigarette smoke or the grilled salmon scent from last night), and leave behind a subtle, super-clean scent. The best part is, after you've revived your dead 'do, you can use the gentle towelettes to refresh your skin (fabulous on hot, sweaty days). Simply a MUST for every workout-addicted brown girl concerned about preserving her blowout post-Pilates! You'll love, love, love.
kisses,
Tia

Oh my God! How did you know? I just relaxed my hair after three years (I was bored) and I'm so scared of doing heavy cardio because I can't wash it everyday anymore. I'm gonna try these wipes and see how they work out. Thank you, thank you, thank you! From the raisin glaze lip-gloss to the Wen fig conditioner wash thingy... oh and the Neutrogena 8 hour moisturizer. You have me looking all types of pretty!

I'm the first to comment? Really? I'm so surprised! It's an honor just to be nominated....

I love J's product philosophy (most of this stuff is vegan-LOVE). How, though, does this work on natural hair? I wash my hair every day (yes, a hair sin, I know!), so the only real problem I have is occasional static-electricity-itis. Would this calm down wayward strands in the winter?

THat is such a cool idea. What will people think of next? I better hurry up and get my inventive juices flowing while the getting is good lol. Thanks for the info Tia.

P.S. I truly admire you & your work and I am by no means as fickled of a person to change my judgement over trivial matters. Continue to keep doing what you're doing Tia. You inspire me and so many other women more than you know :o)

I'm definitely going to try the wipes.

My stylist recommended wrapping my hair before cardio, allowing my scalp to dry, and then taking my hair down after exercise. Does that not sound crazy to anyone else?!?! I have thick hair so wrapping doesn't do too well for me anyway...I can only imagine it soaked with sweat.

Any other brown girls out there with tips?

Tip for exercising w/ relaxed hair: Keep the hair exposed to as much air as possible while working out so that it doesn't trap the sweat. You're better off w/ loose pin curls than wrapping.

Love your blog!
Please put me out of my misery and do tell where you got the tangerine colored dress that you wore in the "Makeover Mama" post. Thanks in advance:)

Thanks for the tip, Tia!

Anon - my stylist said to simply pull hair into a ponytail and wear a sweatband to keep the edges in place. She said covering the hair with a scarf (which is typical if you wrap it) will only hold the heat and sweat in, which is disastrous after a fresh blow-out.

Hi Tia,

I'd like your advice on a situation that I don't wish to post in the comments. I know you're busy so can you e-mail me at Izleys@aol.com at your earliest convenience? And no, I'm not a nutjob, just a young woman that respects your choices and would truly appreciate your input.

Thanks,

Nikol
