Lash of the Titans

Hi dolls,
I am wrong about a lot of things (including the fact that, no matter all the evidence to the contrary, I'm convinced there are 51 states in the US), but I'm seldom wrong about beauty-related matters. For years, I've insisted that there are certain products you buy in the drugstore, and others you must buy at a department store. For example, mascara. I used to shout from the rooftops that there's no mascara greater than good ole Maybelline Great Lash in Blackest Black--Chanel and Lancome be damned. Ohhh girls, I take it all back. I've never experienced longer, thicker, more false-in-the-best-way lashes that I have with Dior Diorshow Black Out Mascara ($24). This brand new, limited edition mascara MONSTER was formulated expressly for ladies who love great big Liza-lashes. The black is the blackest black around (Dior describes it as "extreme khol"), and the enormous wand helps make lashes pop in a major way. I only need one coat, and I'm a triple-coat kinda woman. No clumps either! I'm so in love. It's hard for me to come to terms with spending over $8 for mascara, but I'm too into batting my new lashes to turn back now.
xoxo,
Tia

Thank you! I usually buy dept store mascara but was on a tight budget and bought some Great Lash recently. It's fine, but it's no Diorshow.

I've been hearing a lot about this mascara and want to try it...just have to get over the fact that it is going to cost me $24!

I believe you when you say this is the business, but I'm afraid I'm already having a cosmocrush on another brand. You repped Prescriptives Here to Stay Mascara a while back when you had the flu, and I'm telling you, it's the best $20 I've ever spent! We live in Chicago, and the wind causes your eyes to water, and therefore your mascara to run/flake even if (especially if) it claims to be "waterproof". I don't doubt that Dior is the bomb (Essence and InStyle give it kudos, too), but, thanks to you, I'm still married to Prescriptives :) Also thanks to you, I'm hopelessly addicted to Raisin Glaze lip gloss, and I tell myself that the $7.99 tube kind of evens out the $20 spent on mascara (wink)

Ms Tabitha...I too live in the Chi and let me tell you Dior Show is the truth and the light! I am loyal to Prescriptives also (custom blend is the business).. but if you ever run out of Stay Mascara and you have an extra $24 hanging around, give it a try. You will not be disappointed. I LOVE it!!

I purchased DiorShow "Blackout" and I was soooo excited until I actually wore it. For some strange reason, it burns my eyes! I'm not sure why that is happening, but it did, more than once....so I guess I will stick with CHANEL "Inimitiable"! ;(

Loreal Voluminous mascara and I had a long relationship until I tried Diorshow Black Out:-) I tried the regular Diorshow mascara and didn't know what the fuss was about. Make sure you get the Black Out!

like catherine previously stated, I too am a loreal voluminous fan...it is the most dramatic drug store mascara's i have purchased to date. I have been eyeing the dior show for over a year now, but the loreal will have to suffice for now until i am bold enough to get "the real thing". Maybe sooner rather than later ;)

Oh my gosh! This was a recent conversion for me too. All this time, I thought it couldn't be so, but it's great stuff, and now I can't live without it.

I'm addicted to Xtreme Lashes eyelash extensions. I don't even own mascara anymore. Granted they're pricier than any mascara out there but I love waking up looking beautiful. I highly recommend them.

I totally agree! I never believed in expensive makeup until I tried some stuff at Sephora. I had the other Dior mascara, which I loved, but something broke inside so every time I opened it, I'd get a gloppy mess. I just ordered this one, so I'm looking forward to trying it:)

OMG Im actually coming back to this post..because not only did I forget about this post, but I had to find out if Ms. Tia has talked about it..and Yes she did!

I was in Mexico and happend to pick this up for 21 dollars..(no tax).. Yeah!

and omg as a Makeup Artist who uses millions of products, I can truly say that I am in love..

I was sold on Volumnious before, then I found a new love of Fresh's Supernova..all $26 dollars of it.. Then, I find this Dior love and couldnt beat the price, plus they were sold out of the regular Diorshow.. So I tried this Blackout..and I can truly say
..
I HAVE NOT FOUND BETTER..

I have this obcessive compulsion of my loving my lashes feeling wet, and thick, but without the clumps..and this does it.. it maximizes my lashes to the fullest!

This is the best mascara to date, and I don't think I will cheat on it with another mascara ever.. unless they come out with one that takes my eyelashes to the moon ;-)
