I second that e-Motion
Hi everyone,
Well! I feel like my comment section has morphed into it's very own version of a gossipy, nasty weekly tabloid. I'm kind of enjoying it actually. I've never knew I was so scandalous! I feel like dressing up in a shiny suit and hopping around to "Hate Me Now"...and then returning said suit back to the store a week later! Speaking of returning outfits, there's much, much more to my Saks story than I told you, but you'll find out later. Until then...those of you who were horrified by my actions, I won't hold it against you. Super-hot weather has been known to turn even the sweetest, most non-judgmental girls into b&^%$es.
Besides, I've been called a lot worse than "tacky," "inconsistent" and "hypocritical." Ricky Merced called me "Eight-head" (get it?) all through seventh grade, and I had a seething crush on him anyway! Ricky, where are you?
Let's move on!! I wanted to bring your attention to a special program Glam.com is sponsoring with Motions, the mega haircare line most beloved by everyone's hairstylist. Motions has just launched their new Marula Natural Therapy Collection designed to repair and strengthen hair that's been obliterated by chemicals and heat-styling. The line includes the Hair & Scalp Oil, a fabulous lavender-infused spritz that protects against heat damage; Hair Treatment Balm, which contains UV protectors (so important) and shea butter to nourish brittle hair; and the much-buzzed about Hair Strengthening Moisturizer, a seriously intense lotion that glossifies dry, damaged hair...the best part is, it's totally non-greasy and absorbs in, like, two seconds. Over the next week, Glam.com will be sponsoring a sweepstakes where you can score samples of the Hair Strengthening Moisturizer! Click here to enter.
Love you guys,
Tia
PS...Thanks so much to all the gorgeous ladies who defend my honor thru thick and thin! You know I love you to death, and you know who you are. Big kiss.

Love your blog, don't worry about all the haters that hide behind "Anonymous". Besides, I admire the fact that you can be honest with yourself and us...it just adds to your fabulousness...
Thanks for keeping us informed!
I can't wait to hear the rest of the Saks story!
Tia, this is getting juicy - lol
people are way too serious about these things Tia. Im excited to try this new line because my hair has suddenly become a damaged mess. I was wondering if u could possibly scrape up some more info on how to keep it looking good even if you work out about 5 days a week. Its killing my look. ps- I am a recent grad trying to break into magazines/media. I'd love your advice or maybe some mentoring if u have the time.
I thought everyone knew folks who will be photographed are "loaned" clothes and jewelry for red carpet events.
It's free publicity for designers, and then some of those clothes are sold out in Burbank for a discount.
I missed all of the action yesterday but I saw it today and I can't believe what I saw; it actually was quite entertaining and made me laugh!! Keep doing what you're doing Tia- I admire your success and am trying to reach that level myself. You inspire me!
Thanks for the samples giveaway tip!
Your family loves you! mom, hubby, sisters, friends all came out clawing to defend your honor :) that's love!
Please keep on clarifying that this a love project not your 9-5, some people have been here longer than others and sometimes it is necessary to re-state the truth for the newbies who haven't gone through the archives.
And now back to our regularly scheduled beauty programming...
Thanks for the info on the Motions line. I've seen the banner and have been waiting to try it out myself.
Kierah
thanks - will have to check out the new motions products. i'm growing out my perm and need a good moisture product.
glad you are able to laugh at all the bs....good for you.
You're right it had to be the heat...the haterade was flowing in abundance….
But now that we’re cool we can focus on more important things like moisturizing our scalps...freebies for all!
Namaste’ Ladies!
Glad to see we're back to the regular scheduled program amidst the TiaGate scandal! I'm super excited about the new Motions line! I'm already in love with their shine serum!
I'm glad the smoke has cleared. Keep on doing what you do Tia and don't ever let the haters bring you down. You are fierce, fun, and fabulous.
I'm gonna start hatin on Tia up in here....unless she dishes on the eye shadow she's wearing in her LA pic :) Really! It looks fabulous!
Alberto-Culver makes Motions (they also make St. Ives Lotion), and they have a strong anti-animal testing policy, so I might try this.
Be strong, Tia! (and big ups to Adam!)
You were definitely an inspiration to me and reading your amazing blog gave me the courage to start my own. Thanks, and shake those haters off.
Ms. Tia....stay your fab self honey and all I have to say is hate on me hata now or lata....LOL
Do your THANG you know I love love you!
Tia:
I just found your blog a few weeks ago (after seeing it referenced in a magazine) and I l-o-v-e it.
I have been spending an hour every night reading back posts :)
I was caught off guard that your blog was not just cute but left me feeling inspired to see a beautiful brown-skinned lady with such swag. And to see that all of your sisters are amazing too! :)
Just wanted to say that (and can I say I have NEVER left a comment on a website before?)
p.s. how cute was your mom for leaving a comment in the previous post. love love love you guys.
Tia, Im in an urgent need for your beauty experties. I was looking at old posts, and found out that that Tarte's Bonnie and Clyde lipgloss has been discontinued. Is there any good substitues?
Thanks, I am going to check out the link. Keep doing what you are doing, your blog is great and you are an inspiration.
PS- If you are giving em someting to talk about you are doing something right.
xo,
CC
Love your blog. Just brush the haters off.
TIA....HELP...PLEASE! I'm only 25 and I'm suffering from undereye dark circles and lines/wrinkles. Can you please give your expert advice on a great eye cream/treatment that solves those issues? I would GREATLY appreciate it! Thank you :-)
Hi Tia,
I'm a brand new reader and haven't left a comment here before. So far I'm been impressed by the blog, but would like to know "the rest of the story" (regarding saks) when you are able to share it. and keep your chin up-when I read the posting I automatically thought you had maybe borrowed the dress and didn't form a bad opinion. but, yeah, some clarification would be nice. :-)
I just love love your blog and you looked absolutely stunning in the dress, plus your hair and makeup were "the bomb". Keep doing it girl!

ps. can't wait to hear the rest of the story! lol!
Good lord.
There is no clarification necessary. This is a beauty blog, Tia only blogs about products she loves and thinks her readers will dig, and she is perfectly allowed to write positive and negative reviews about products from the same company. She puts a ton of time and effort into this blog and she shouldn't be crucified for returning a dress, for whatever reason!
It's our pleasure to come here for Tia's upbeat voice, not to mention positivity. There's enough negativity around without masses of well-meaning women turning on their so-called favorite blogger. Let it go, and back to regularly scheduled programming, puhleeze.
Tia, LOVE your blog. What makes it great is your honesty, and the Saks comment was just that. Carrie talked about farting in bed with Big, Tia talks about returning her dress to Saks. Honesty is the new black.
Haters, jealousy is an ugly, ugly emotion. You clearly do NOT know how to shake your beauty.
Keep shakin', Tia.
TIA--
IS YOUR HAIR REAL?
HOW DO YOU STAY SO SKINNY?
PLEASE ANSWER,
DONNA.
Gosh, reading about all this drama is about to make me late for my hair appt. Haters... be gone! Unless you are mind readers you don't know why Tia returned that dress. I can not stand judgemental people. Tia you rock my socks! I love this blog, you're fab and freaking awesome!
Hi Tia!
People need lives. Can I have yours?
I never read/write comments because I think people are crazy, but after this I just had to tell you that as a broke 25-year-old in grad school, I never buy anything unless I've checked with you first. So far, you have yet to steer me wrong and I often end up finding the solution to a problem I didn't know I could fix!
You're the best, pay no attention to the haters, some people just can't handle fabulousness.
I read blogs all the time and the gift and curse is that everyone can speak their mind without censorship. The only thing I find disheartening with the recent post of events, is that this is just a small symptom of a bigger issue taking place with African American women. Tia has made monumental strides for African American women in the world of beauty, opened doors, inspired many, and taught us all a lot as only I can recall just a few blogs that actually take the time to focus on the complexities and sheer beauty of African American skin. Why is it that African American women always try and disgrace each other. Literally, if there was an issue or a point to be made it could have been done in a private manner by mailing a letter or sending an email and expressing your views but when done in a public forum without knowing all the facts it could have only been out of negative place with a crab in the barrel mentality. This is a very key time for African American women, as we prayerfully have one becoming the next 1st lady of the United States. I am in PR myself, yet I would have not utilized my knowledge of the things that might happen negatively within my industry to chastise, prejudge, or "call out" someone. The fact is every journalist gets perks and might I add PR practitioners get perks too as well as teachers, lawyers, janitors, beauticians, etc. Once again, lets not discredit one of the few brown girls who has made it as an authority into the quite segmented world of beauty. Have we not all changed our mind at one point or another, has a toothpaste that has never caught your attention - rebranded, added to their formula and repackaged and now you are completely smitten? Trust me, it happens all the time just many of us are not aware of it. Let us stop being our own worst enemies, the world is watching. Now more than ever. Love you Tia, for what you have done and what will come to past!
Let's do a post on So You Think You Can Dance. I love the show. My faves so far are Joshua and Katee. They killed it last week! We should have a live video chat while watching the show lol
Tia and Adam (who I love for coming to defend your honor) harlem shake off the haters,do the 1-2 step and keep blogging and returning.
Although I have never returned something I've worn on purpose, I would never get stank about someone who did...that's why they make the little strips on the "hoo-haa" part of the bikini for when you try them on :)
The same anonymous people who are posting need to do a few things for me...go find Osama Bin Laden, lower the price of gas, and kiss my grits :)
Save the Drama for Your Mama and please tell me how the hell to make this sunburned-flakey-dry-itchy-thirsty skin of mine feel better!!!!!
Thanks and love you cuz- oh and by the way Adam, your so noble and sweet for defending your woman. Viva Cabezas!!! xoxoxoxoxo
Tia:
I've been an avid reader of your blog for about a year now and you have never steered me wrong! From Spite lipglass (people ALWAYS ask me what color that is) to the ROC cleansing face pads, there is no questions you know your black beauty!
I think the last thread was unfortunate, but its clear that you have an iron clad support system in your mother, husband (and sisters I am sure). So keep your head up and keep writing. We need you out here in the wild wild world of beauty.
Best,
Glamazon Girl
Tia
I really love your blog! I think you are fab and I appreciate your product reviews!
First time commenter, long time fan. I was first exposed to your from your book "The Accidental Diva" which is really one of my top ten faves! I love the blog, love your writing and your overall fabulousness. I have read about the Motions line on some other sites, so I will definitely check it out!
Just sending some brown girl love!
OH
MY
GOD...
did you say Motions...I'm currently in the process of growing out my natural hair from being relaxed (although I'm caving in and that touch up is looking mighty fine)...thanks for looking out!
PS::I WAS CRACKING UP ON ALL THAT DRAMA!!! You got yourself a little "The Hills" battle going on here (Team Tia!!) That had me dying with laughter..tears rolled down these cheeks.
Question: Do people stop reading Allure, Vogue, Harper's, Glamour, etc. 'cuz those ladies GET PAID for writing a short blurb in their $3.99 mag while you do it GRATIS (that means free people)...
Anywhoo...I love this blog, I started mine as a result (lame but whatever...)
PS:: loved the comments by the hubby...If I could only get my bf to type in my web address... lol
Smooches Tia!
I haven't had many opportunities to comment but just wanted to say how much I LOVE your blog and I just think you are too cute for words!! It seems like folks have been waiting for a long time to go public (anonymously) with hating on you. Just...EWWWWWWW! I know I don't have to tell you how to deal with that because it looks as if you handled it splendidly!
Personally I'll continue hating on you because you're fly as HELL, FABULOUS as HELL, cute as a button, smart and funny! LOVE THAT!
Smooches!
