Lady Lump RX
Hola ladies,
During my beauty editor days, I had a colleague named Kathy Miller Kramer, who was the beauty director at Lifetime magazine. Lady Kramer was well-known for a veddy interesting hobby. She invented things. No seriously, she came up with insanely genius, dammit-why-didn't-I-think-of-that ideas and sold them for crazy money. Yeah, so, we were always a little jealous of Ms. Kathy (she also happened to be a sweet, dark-eyed beauty who always had the right bag...grrr!). Anyway, Kathy just stumbled upon what, in my opinion, is her most brilliant, profoundly necessary invention to date. Okay, so, if you have a tiny waist and rounder hips or butt (basically, if you're black or Latina), then you know how impossible it is to find a pair of jeans/pants that fit. Usually, they gap around your waist, and you have to cinch them with a major belt...and then all your fabulous, fitted tops look all bulky and awkward over the belt buckle. Kathy's new baby, the Invisibelt ($19.95), is a smooth, thin belt with a flat clasp that's totally undetectable under your sexy tops. You'll look super-skinny, streamlined and totally elegant...and your jeans will stay up! Oh, and the belt somehow manages to fit sizes 2 to 14. Kind of heaven-sent, no? I'm totally happy for Kathy, but dammit, WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THIS?!
Big kiss,
Tia

Thank you so much for this. I have a size 6 waist and I am bootylicious so this is exactly what I need.
Hey Tia! LOOOOOVE ur blog! Anyway my comment has nothing to do with this post but you were the first person I thought of (not an actual dermatologist) this morning when I looked at the mess that has become my face in the past 6 months.
I have very sensitive skin so when I tried ProActiv it just ended up with tender red spots around my nose and painful inflammed skin all over my face. i have tried a bunch on combinations of OTC cleansers and moisturizers but I can not seem to banish the pimples, dark spots (from me picking), and enlarged pores that have been plaguing me lately! I was wondering if you could offer me any suggestions on not too pricey options for my skin or is it best I hit up a doctor??
What a great idea. Will be purchasing it ASAP!
You're da best. That is all lol
Sorry Tia, you missed the mark on this one. Get a TAILOR people! The invention may be great, but it's no substitute for having your clothes actually fit.
Hi SML,
Of course, taking your clothes to a tailor is always a great option! However, not everyone can afford to get all their jeans/pants/skirts taken in, so a $20 belt that solves the problem is a fab quick fix. Thanks for the comment!
xoxo,
Tia
^ VERY TRUE... tailors around here are not cheap esp. on a college budget! So I can't afford to take all of my jeans to a tailor. I like the invention, but what about us size 0 girls :( I may not have a large arse, but this is still a problemo for me.
genius, genius, genius. does she have any other products available for purchase? maybe i'll start by googling her! lol.
hey this has absolutely nothing to do with the post(which i think is a lovely idea) but i have a very uneven skin tone and is expecially prominent on my arms which are a complete different color than my chest/neck area which is different than my face, basically i am two-toned and I was wondering if there is a bronzer that u would recommend or even if i should use a bronzer to try and even out the color.
wow.. kathy is a genius! now only if she could help with the bunching part of the issue! tia.. think of something!
Thanks for the tip Tia I was just wrestling with this problem today!
Re:deedeelynn, darlin, I have the same sensitive with acne skin issue. I wash my face with Dove, and dot Clean and Clear benzoyl peroxide cream on the individual bumps. When that dries, I put oil free moisturizer on my face, and I carry some with me during the day. The moisturizer is also clean and clear, with SPF because the sun will make your dark spots worse. If I feel like picking during the day, I dab more on so they don't feel so scaly and ripe for the picking.
Also, find something to do with your hands. Paint your nails, draw a picture, something!
As far as the existing dark spots, Clinique has a serum called the Even Better Skin Tone Corrector with a wand for dabbing it on. When you have sensitive skin, dabbing is a must; don't blast your whole face with stuff, mimimize the damage to the other sensitive skin. Someone also reccomended Palmer's cocoa butter soap to me for fade control, but I haven't tried it yet. Good luck!
I was just thinking about this today. Talk about convenience...
I saw these and thought they would be great for me, as I am working on losing some weight. What a great idea!
Thanks!
Wow, genius. I may have to try this. I'd sworn off belts, except ones that are meant to be seen, for that very (bulky lumps under tops) reason.
Also, for deedeelynn, I also wage a daily battle with acne and have found a dermatologist visit extremely helpful. Very likely they'll have seen someone with skin similar to yours before.
But do your homework before you go so you can know some of your options. Derma Doctor's articles on dermadoctor.com are great for background info on countless skin conditions. Good luck! And stop picking. :)
Let me know when she makes a plus size belt... Damn, why are we always getting forgotten? i have pant issues too ya know... :(
