Overnight Love
Hi girls,
How was your weekend? Mine was DIVINE--not because I finally mastered the at-home bikini wax and caught up on "Lost," but because of my recent haircare discovery. See, my hair is beat down within an inch of it's life (relaxer, color, weekly blowouts, flatiron, abuse, abuse, abuse). My Dominican hairstylist always gives me a deep conditioner, but lately it's not really doing the thing. So, when I heard tell of the new
John Frieda Frizz Ease Overnight Repair Serum ($9.99), I jumped all over that ass. A little background: I love John Frieda in a major way...especially the Brilliant Brunette shampoo/conditioner line (softness like you wouldn't believe). Anyway, the Overnight Repair Serum is a super-moisturizing cream that you apply to ends and super-damaged areas at night. And, after about a week of this luscious treatment, the stuff actually smooths out frizz and damaged, fried ends! I've been using it since the week before Rome, and my hair is so glossy I feel like I'm floating around in my own slow-mo shampoo commercial. Try it! So epic.
xoxo,
Tia

Hey T-T,
Yeah, my hair is doing something something wierd, too. I don't get blowouts, but to save money i press my own hair with an electric comb (but i do use heat protectants and do my own deep conditioners, although i must admit i haven't done a very deep one in a while). I noticed last week after a couple days, i ran a flatiron to touch up, like usual, and instead of becomming more flat, the ends curled up very frizzily. I'm SPRINTING to the nearest CVS on my lunchbreak for the shampoo, conditioner, and nighttime serum! :)
Thanks for this post. I love LOVE to try new things....making this purchase ASAP!

Okay Tia, I have a couple of questions, 1. I have cut my bangs and now I hate them (you know what I am going through) so right now I am suffering through a rough "growing back" period. Is there anything I can do to make the transition less painful?!? My hair is looking downright ugly right now...:( and 2. I have some serious dry scalp but I hate greasy hair, is there anything you can suggest for brown girl dandruff? Thanks!!
I *almost* bought this yesterday at Walmart. I saw the ad in Lucky and actually searched high and low for it, then when I found it I decided not to buy it cause I wasn't sure! lol...silly me. Sounds fab. I may try it after I finish the bottle of my Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship split end mender!
I'm all over it... Thanks for this entry. BTW-- Do you know of any products that can maintain hair freshness? I would love to be able to wash my hair once a week, but let's face it, it ain't happening. After about 3 or 4 days after a shampoo, my hair begins to smell. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Hey Tia and ladies,
I need your help. I want to get a wax- down there. Can you recommend a great place to go?
i'm in need of a Dominican Salon in NYC. i'm going to be interning in new york this summer and can't live without my Dominican Salon. Can anyone recommend a good one in nyc please! thanks
I'll have to check this out. Thanks!
I will def have to check this out. Also what brand of wax did you use and were there any special techniques. I would love to start doing an at home wax but the brand I tried didn't work thanks
does anyone know if you have to wash out the John Frieda night serum or can you leave it in? Tia what do you do?
I need to try this like yesteryear...Thank you so much for the tip!
I went out and bought this product. I followed the directions and woke up this morning and my ends are FRIED and dry. After looking at the ingredients, the whole makeup is alcohol, which is a drying agent. I would beware of this product if I were you.
hey, what at home waxing kit did you use tia?? i realllly want something that works!!!!
The quote is from Dirty Dancing!!! What'd I win?
well I went out and bought the product and my hair still looked frizzy to me but it did feel MUCH softer than it did the day before so maybe I'll continue to use it but for now it gets a 3 out 5 star rating simply because i like the softness of my hair
Biosilk Therapy does wonders for me, I've only been using it for Two weeks and I swear by it. I have EXTREMELY coarse hair and I'm wearing a sew in weave. It does a miracle.
Thanks for this product! I occasionally forget to wear a scarf (even though I do sleep on a satin pillowcase) so this may help my excessive hair dryness.
