Flirty Eyes and Curly Girls

Hi ladies,
Our winner for week six of SYB's "Free at Last" Giveaway Extravaganza is...drumroll...TNDRHRT! And the answer was New Orleans, not Shreveport (trick question, muchachas). Ms. TNDRHRT, shoot me an email at beauty@tiawilliams.net with your address and foundation color (choose your shade here), so I can send you your prize: Bare Minerals Foundation, Concealer and Blush ($60 value). Girls, make sure you come back next Monday for week seven of "Free at Last," and compete to win makeup essentials from Bobbi Brown! And now, onto le beaute...

I'm just gonna get straight to the point. I'm having a little bit of a beauty crisis. I feel that my look is lacking that "ooh la la" quality. I'm kind of married to my gloss and blush moment, so I decided to amp up my eyeshadow game. LADIES. I believe I've found the sexiest new eye palette on the market...Flirt! Lash-a-delic Dreamy Eyes Eyeshadow Palette in Groovy Blues ($16). Now, the name is a little misleading--the shadows themselves aren't blue; they're formulated to match Flirt!'s blue mascara. Since I don't really believe in Pantone-colored lashes, I'm skipping that part. Anyway, the Groove Blue kit comes with the MOST gorgeous collection of soft golds, taupes and bronze shimmer shadows. They're just neutral enough to work beautifully for day, and just sexy enough to look super-hot at night. Oh, and the shimmer is exquisitely subtle--ie, just enough to give your lids some oomph. I use the buttery-champagne shade on my browbone and in the inner corners of my eyes (this trick makes you look instantly radiant and awake), the soft gold allover my lids, and the deeper bronze-brown in my crease. If I'm feeling saucy, I add the orangey-copper moment ontop of the brown for a shot of sauciness. Genius!!

BTW, hats off to whoever can figure out how to open the damn near childproof packaging.
xoxo,
Tia

I'm always missing the giveaways. I have to get better at checking my links.

Flirt has TO DIE FOR eyeshadows. I'll have to grab up the grouping of which you speak. However, I grabbed up a few of the individual shadows on a jaunt to Kohl's and was PLEASANTLY surprised.

Does Ouidad work with kinky hair? My hair is 4 a/b and I would love to have it cut, but I would like to go to someone with experience with my hair type. Can anyone suggest a stylist in LA or San Francisco/Oakland? Thanks!

Moni-

Check naturallycurly.com for salon recommendations. Since the reviewers list their hair type, you should be able to find someone with 4 a/b hair's recommendations for your area.

Congrats TNDRHRT!

Tia, please help me with an explanation on how to apply color to the inner corner of the eyes. I was looking for a product when I decided to come to your website. You mentioned to Flirt shadows. What tool would you use to apply this? I hope you address this in a future posting. Thanks

hey tia!

I just voted for you :-)

I need tons of help.
1) I'm looking for an eye cream and I need it to do a few things: combat dark circles, prevent fine lines, and have an SPF. I'm willing to buy two if that's what it takes to get the SPF but I need reasonably priced items. What do you use and/or suggest?

2) I'll be turning 30 this summer and though I'm otherwise ecstatic about evolving in every other regard - I'd like to "look" as though I'm in my 20s for years to come. The serum I'd used for the decollatage area has been discontinued. I need one asap and have no idea where to look. help!

3) Lastly I press my hair but lately I've been working out a lot and I don't need to tell you what that does to my hair. How do you workout and maintain your weekly blowout?

4) I'm so happy to have come across your blog a year or two ago. I saw the name and recognized it from a book on my shelf - Accidental Diva. Never met ya, but sometime it's like you're one of my girlfriends.

Tia, thanks for the link to this salon! I've got to try to make it there since I'm still figuring out my post-baby curl comeback. You're the best! xoxo
